In the early 1990's, Earl Wright began taking food, toys, and gifts into Moore County housing projects at Christmas. His generous endeavor evolved and became 'Project Santa' as he began to repair bikes and then in 1996 he gave away 75 bicycles on Christmas morning in the parking lot at Bo's Foods. Since then, Earl and partner Sharon Thompson work year round to collect and gift more than 1,000 bikes on any given Christmas season.
